Wolfhamcote, The Deserted Village, Northamptonshire
There are not many remains of the village, there are few buildings left, and the one that we will be investigating will be the Church Grounds. A very deep and interesting site, where many things happen. Voices are heard, shadows are seen, equipment often fails and you will hear footsteps walking in the grass and there will be no one there!
The grounds have many ghosts and spirits some are there because of the church and others, well there are there because they want to be.
This site is one of the most fascinating sites that Ghosts Unlimited have ever investigated! So if your looking for a night of adventure, hauntings and investigations with a dedicated paranormal team, then come and join us here at the deserted village and we will tell you more.
St Johns Ruins, Northamptonshire
Hidden away from reality stands the ruins of St Johns and you will not be disappointed with what is said to be the most haunted burial site in the county.
The grounds are said to have many ghosts in them including the highway man, Captain Slash (his real name being George Catherall) and he was later hanged in Northampton. The next famous story is about a bride and groom whom were married at the church, only a few hours later the groom dropped dead. Grief stricken, the young wife decided to take her own life next to her husbands grave. A sad tale of a love story.
There are many stories about this site including the spirits of children, a figure of a woman in robes, headless man have all been seen. We also know that there are several children buried in the churchyard.
There is one more story, and perhaps the most exciting of all stories! the most famous ghost is said to be that of a beautiful red haired woman. She entices male passers by, and asks for a kiss. Be warned, for the legend follows that if you receive a kiss from this young woman, you will come to your death exactly a month after. This is said to be the fate of William Parker. He was passing by the churchyard on Christmas Eve in 1875 when he met a beautiful red haired girl. She invited him to sit with her for a while. After saying farewell, the young woman vanished and sure enough, William died exactly one month later, to the day.
Battle of Naseby Battlesite, Northamptonshire
As with many battle sites, Naseby is said to be extremely haunted. It has a wonderful viewing platform looking across what was the battlefield and many have said they have seen soldiers in the fields and one paranormal group said that they could hear cannon fire, gunshots and other noises.
A fascinating site full of mystery and haunting spirits.
White Friars, Coventry
The building is a reminder of the Franciscan friars of Coventry, but the building has been used for a work house in the 1800’s as well. Children would work from 8am-7pm six days a week and they were allowed to have an hour for lunch. Children were employed from the age of 9 years in the mill and where taken out to be taught reading. Smoking and drinking was allowed on the site and you could leave the site on a Sunday to tend church, many of the residents would stay out all day and come back drunk!
So onto the hauntings of the grounds, which is said to be haunted by the devil himself, and is often heard rattling chains.
Our team have experienced strange happenings on the site, from camera's not wanting to take photographs to feeling of being watched and seeing shadows in
All in all a wonderful medieval site that has more to offer than most.
